Curator note: Oxidation is what happens when a surface is left alone long enough to change. The near-black ground has been worked by exposure — blue-grey patina spreading from the edges inward, the surface altered in ways that feel geological rather than painted. What separates this piece from Ionization and Nucleation is time. Those pieces are about moments. Oxidation is about process. The change is already underway and there’s no telling where it stops. It works best in rooms that can hold that kind of slow presence — a living room, a dining room, an executive space where the walls are allowed to age alongside the room.
